It’s competition time
Plant and Share Month is all about making the most of growing your own, sharing seeds of friendship, and of course enjoying local, seasonal produce. And it doesn’t stop at the growing. Why buy new when just about anything can be a container for planting in? As long as you can pop holes in the bottom, pretty much any vessel is a pot waiting for a plant!
We’ll be giving a prize to the most unusual growing container! All you have to do is pick your pot, plant your crop and send us a snap or short video on social media.
At Food for Life Get Togethers HQ, we couldn’t contain ourselves and we’ve started growing already.
Katherine Oliver, Service Design Manager, planted her seeds in paper coffee cups and has pledged to share a lettuce plant with her elderly neighbour. But the winner of our Get Togethers most unusual container competition was Regional Engagement Officer Anne Merry, who planted a potty of parsley to share with local volunteers.
The winner will be announced after 19 May and will win a prize to grow their garden!
