The Get Togethers programme have a national Network Event series to explore using the power within communities to-scale good food activities, as well as facilitate greater peer-to-peer connections both locally and nationally.
Working in tandem with the skills, knowledge and experience of the programme partners, the Get Togethers’ unique approach to Network Events saw a broad spectrum of people to come together.
These networks are for anyone who wants to know more about the good food movement, from growing food, to cooking it, to building a community around it. The networks events also provide space for people to share and learn from others from a wide range of backgrounds, locations, experience and knowledge.
Approach to Network Building
Get Togethers strategically focused on strengthening networks at both local and national level by; hosting network events, sharing newsletters, creating national campaigns such as Plant and Share and Cook and Share, as well as delivering training and providing support through partnerships.
Many of the networks wit in the Get Togethers programme also closely aligned with Sustainable Food Places (SFP), a programme that brings together a network of ‘Food Partnerships’ working to join up the food system at the local level, run by The Soil Association, Food Matters and Sustain. SFP's approach is based around six key issues, from good food governance and action, promoting a good food movement, access to affordable healthy food, creating a vibrant, prosperous and diverse sustainable food economy, transforming catering and procurement, and tackling the climate and nature emergency through food and farming.
Over the next few months, we will continue to host Network Events to keep building on the momentum that we have started through Get Togethers’ over the past few years.
Upcoming Network Events details coming soon.
